This is simply outrageous to ask for CV from such a renowned faculty members, even more so from the institute one has served her entire life. The choice of words are extremely disturbing, as it means nothing less then disrespecting the academic excellence.

Professor Romila Thapar is our national pride and commands respect in academic world beyond India. Slightest disrespect to her amounts to disregard international academic community. Those who are at the helm of affairs at HEI must learnt to respect teachers on whose reputation the institutions are surviving.Prof Thapar is not only a scholar par excellence and a gem of a person but also an architect of JNU. The administration should not be ungrateful to her.It must render a public apology to save its own respect.

It is not that Prof Thapar's reputation require scrutiny. It speaks of ignorance and vendetta on the part of those who are asking for her CV. Respects to a teacher and a scholar of unimaginable repute
