Native American names and symbols have been used in sports at all levels from pee wee to professional for many years and have always been a symbol of honor and pride. Never was the intent to disgrace Native Americans in anyway. Only a hand full of Native Americans in our nation, believe the intent of use is was wrong. If this was true, Native Americans would be the majority of people apposing this.

Please let's stop making this a political agenda. There are to many contradictory theories in the Indian Nation pro vs con about the word Redskin. Some in the Indian Nation see it as a slur while others, in the same Indian Nation, see it as a tribute or badge of honor. If the Indian Nation is unclear about this word Redskin, then how can we, a committee, or a school board come to such a definitive decision that the word is offensive to all. Due to this fact, please let us use some common sense and leave the name, the tradition, the honor and heritage of a school and for that matter a community, so future students present alumnus as well as past alumni can be continue to be proud of and feel part of something so extraordinary as it has been for all these years!!!!
