We purchased our property because of the quiet, serene setting. We have CC&Rs attached to our deed that protect us from disturbances, nuisances, and things that take away from the peaceful setting that was developed by Corbett Oaks founders. Please take the time to review the concerns below, as each neighbor on Oak Way is greatly affected.
Traffic - increased noise to the area, increase wear and tear on the road, increase difficulty navigating the one lane road with more vehicle use
Liability - since this is a privately owned road, there is increased vulnerability should someone get injured or damage is done to their vehicle
Example: out of towners go wine tasting, return to airbnb after dark and drive into tree on our private property, or into gullies.
Lifestyle - We certainly did not move into this neighborhood to live next to a hotel. There is an expectation of a quiet and serene environment, removed from the hecticness of a typical tract home type neighborhood
Safety - the exposure on the internet and the flux of strangers into our area is unsettling; it is disturbing and unexpected to encounter unfamiliar vehicles or walkers/joggers/cyclists in this neighborhood.

Cindy and I concur that the AirBnB increases the community's risk and liability.
We are in agreement that an AirBnB conflicts with the intent of our CC&Rs.
Appears to be in conflict with Oak Way CC&Rs. Think about impact if each property was participating in short stay rentals. May be interesting, respectful guests but does appear presents concerning issues.
Kathy and I fully support this petition. Another area that has not been mentioned is the increased water use. All of the developed properties on Oak Way are drawing water from the same source and who knows how much water is left done there.
I am very concerned about how the use of this B&B will affect our neighborhood. That is why I created this petition.
We are most concerned about the safety of the children on this street - the increased weekend traffic puts everyone at risk. This is a relatively secluded area, we all know each other, and we should not have our privacy compromised by having a hotel in our neighborhood.

I concur with all concerns. Recent news items show that our concerns are shared by others in the country at large. The NY times (last week) and the LA Times (this morning) noted objections raised in residential areas about noise and nuisances -even the possibility of lowering home values- caused by increased use of airbnb. In our case, it concerns not just a residential area but, more urgently, a private road.
