January 2nd and 3rd are on Thursday and Friday, respectively, which can interfere with holiday plans and/or travel plans at the end of the 2013-2014 winter break, such as needing to cut vacation and family time in order to com back to school. Should the School Board be worried about attendance of students for the school year, they should consider the consequences of having a two-day school week. Though teachers will come into school to tend to the students, very few (if any at all) will opt to finish off the week of break and relax.
