I lost my 18 year old son to suicide in 2021 due to the decline of his mental health, if we can raise more awareness that it’s okay not to be okay and talk about it we are moving in the right direction.

As a grass roots national institution, local clubs have a unique accessibility to engage community in psychosocial health education and reducing the stigma associated with I'll health in this area. Current moves in Victoria to deliver Mental health services from Neighbourhood houses ( of which are more prevalent in Vic than McDonalds stores!!) would benefit from partnerships with local AFL clubs to enhance and expand the outcomes possible.

I completely support the idea that raising awareness on this issue is crucial. If dedicating a round to mental health can help spark conversations and save lives, then it absolutely deserves to be put into action!!!!
