To the Alberta Health Regions Stop Mistreatment of Psychiatric Patients! We, the undersigned Organization for Bipolar Affective Disorders Society, Physicians, former Patients, and concerned Citizens, Do hereby implore the Alberta Health Regions to cease the policy of involuntary transferring of patients from hospitals where their Psychiatrists practice in the short-sighted interests of bed availability. This policy undermines the long-term benefits of doctor-patient relationships and only serves to traumatize persons in acute states of mental illness; making a bad situation even worse. http://www.obad.ca
