Westmeade Elm. School should be a Sustainability Academy

Let’s teach a whole generation to take care of their planet.

Great Idea - start teaching our children to save the planet, and we are only a generation away from a solution to climate change!

I would love to see this happen. But what I don't understand are the multiple comments from people wanting to move the school to the Hollywood property when roughly 5 kids from that part of the district actually attend Westmeade. The largest group of kids at Westmeade live in Bellevue. We need a new, remodeled school in Bellevue.

A magnet school is desperately needed in West Nashville. We have to send our bright students to private or home schools.

This would enrich the lives of the students who attend Westmeade, increase environmental awareness among the next generation, and be a unique asset for MNPS. Hope to see this come to fruition in the near future!

I taught at Westmeade and the level of instruction was top notch. The teachers taught with rigor and the students grew from that. I support this petition whole heartedly and believe that this is a good idea.

I support moving Westmeade Elementary to the Hillwood property and implementing the sustainabilty magnet school for Westmeade Elementary.

I want MNPS adminstration to know that Nashville supports the idea of a sustainabilty magnet school at Westmeade Elementary.

I live in West Meade and think this would be wonderful for our area and neighborhood.

Please rebuild Westmeade Elementary in West Meade! (Hillwood HS campus would be great.)

I went to West Meade. If children in West Meade and Hillwood were zoned to this school there would be no problem. But the neighborhood children are zoned to Gower in Bellevue and the Bellevue children are zoned to West Meade. What kind of sense does this make? Only if you want to dismantle real neighborhood schools then you've gone about it.

Perfect idea as Westmeade becomes an island of wildlife surrounded on three sides by development.

My daughter attended Westmeade and will be attending college studying environmental science. Start them early. Save the planet & it’s inhabitants!

This plan fits perfectly with West Nashville Community Plan if Westmeade Elementary school is rebuild at Hillwood Campus.
