Wendy is essential: you could close the Byte Cafe if you make Wendy Head of FoC. Otherwise, build on the loyal customer base. Invest a little, vary the food offering and it will be a money-spinner for FoC. Not all cafes are equal - Wendy is more equal than others...

The byte cafe is a crucial meeting point in Kilburn - both for students as well as staff. In my experience, a lot of spontaneous chats 'over a coffee' come about due to the Byte Cafe being in this very Building.

The Byte cafe is essential to allow me to switch off briefly from work and have a decent cup of coffee away from my desk. Wendy makes that experience even better as she has such a sunny disposition and knows all of her regulars by name and coffee. She is never grumpy or short with anyone and losing her will be such a huge loss to the organisation and building.

Invest in it and make it better. It is needed. IT is the meeting place for compsci and IT services.

Please do not close the Byte Cafe! Instead invest in and market it. Kilburn and Wendy deserve better.

This is a very narrow minded decision and I hope that it's reversed. The Byte Cafe adds a great deal to the experience of working/studying in Kilburn.
Wendy has been one of the best University employees that I have ever encountered. Always outstanding - friendly, efficient and caring. You don't get that personal touch anywhere else.

It is an important social place (not just a commercial enterprise) for us.
Consider Staff well being -- this includes Wendy.

Staff and students need facilities nearby to where they are being taught as it is not always possible to pop over over the road to grab food/drink in between class.
Yes they maybe a little pricier than over the road but they do provide a very useful facility.

These things shouldn't always come back to the money, part of the job of the University is to provide facilities to the student, to directly help their studies or even just to support them during their day-to-day lives and things such as Cafe's form a part of that. I'd also argue that the Byte Cafe is such a memorable thing for people, past and present that it should be Grade 2 listed. The security to Wendy's job and career shouldn't even have to be discussed.
I am in favour of keeping the byte cafe open
