I was a student at Kilburn and Wendy was the best part about the depressing building. She made me feel happy to be there and she’s the kindest soul

Even though Byte cafe doesn’t have the best food/coffee, I can’t be bothered to go all the way across the street to buy water for example and Wendy! Oh Wendy.

The Byte cafe, and specially Wendy, is the heart of Kilburn building. I cannot imagine the building without the warm welcome you get from Wendy every time you pass by Byte.

Teaching/learning have a social dimension. Wendy and the Byte Cafe make an intrinsic contribution to the social atmosphere of the Kilburn Building

The byte cafe is important to everyone in the Kilburn building, especially for students who are on taught programs since for some of them it is sometimes essential to get food and drink for somewhere close in the short time between lectures. The problem with the byte cafe isn’t that students don’t want to buy food/drinks it’s that food/drinks in the byte cafe are too expensive. Don’t close the byte cafe, but try to increase value for money. We love Wendy!

This more than a café; it is a hub for the whole building. I cannot understand why you would consider closing this; during term time there are queues to be served.

If Byte Café can't make a profit due to the arrival of the co-op I suggest looking at the business model. It's not all about money, what about student/staff satisfaction?
