Carol Anne Meehan is the only reason I watched the 6:00 o'clock news on CTV. Graham is a pompous ass and should have been the one let go. ...getting my news from CBC now until Carol Anne comes back.

CarolAnn is a member of our community who rightfully deserves to continue delivering us the news.
She is the new Max Keeping of CJOH and should never of been forced to leave the best news show. Sadly I will not be watching as she was why I loved watching it! She connects with the women viewers!

I am so saddened by this news of Carol Anne Meehan because she is the face of CTV News at 6 and has been ever since she joined Max as anchor. Although Graham Richardson is good at his job he does not have the same 'feeling' when reading the news as Carol and it is shame on the 'powers that be' that they have let her go. We will (and a lot of others no doubt) think again about watching CTV.. Maybe another local station will pick her up... and improve their ratings locally!!

Why was Carol Anne let go and not someone else with less seniority? It seems to be the norm nowadays to fire staff who've been loyal employees for a long time and have reached a certain age.

Well, based on the already 3,000+ comments - about the only thing I can say is that I *echo* EVERYONE'S sentiments. The one word that does come to mind however is: TRAVESTY {Cambridge: something that fails to represent the values and qualities that it is intended to represent, in a way that is shocking or offensive.).
My Mother (who passed last year) *religiously* watched the 6 o'clock CTV news with Max and Carol Anne since the VERY day they went on-air...hearing about this, I'm SURE she's 'turning in her grave'! What a TRULY sad, sad world we now live in.
