Carol Ann (AND Carolyn) are completely and irrevocably a part of the Ottawa community and a large part of why Ottawa tunes into your station Bell Media. You have made a gross error in judgement if you think this would be accepted as inevitable. Our community stands behind you both and my heartfelt condolences to all who lost their jobs.

If the media outlets are going to lay off staff, there has got to be a better way of going about the process. It is unfair to the staff and to the viewers/listeners. It's a cold process when it doesn't have to be. For instance, one day they are there, the next day they are gone. No explanation, and their colleagues must act on air like nothing has happened, business as usual. As for Carol Ann Meehan, we want her back! She is excellent at her job, she is professional, loyal and she is very genuine. She has a strong, natural connection to viewers, which is rare in many tv personalities. People trust her and she emits that she respects her viewing audience! She is an example to the younger generation of media people - she must be a wonderful mentor to them. Bell has made a huge error in judgement in my humble opinion.

I will not watch CTV news unless Carol Anne Meehan is rehired and apologized to. Shame on Bell Media for treating a long-serving dedicated community member like garbage.

This action by Bell Media is an insult to the community. Bell Media has been destroying the connection between CJOH and its community of loyal followers since day 1.
