it's unreal how they can let people go after all those years of service...

I strongly believe that she was the best and did her job very well. I do not like the fact to the approach after so many dedicated years, involvement in the community and turn around to say Thank you for your services. Not acceptable

The news will never be the same with Carol Anne gone. Why..you are not respecting all the good she did. I will not watch Ottawa news anymore.

PLEASE bring Carol Anne back.

I never write letters or express my opinion about anything because it never gets anything done. When corp. or big wigs decide something you can,t change there minds. However this time I'm very upset on this matter and have had a bell cell phone for years and plan on changing to rogers if Carol Anne does not get her job back. You are cold hearted and only care about your bottom line. Your not going to lose a thing if you bring her back except a lot of happy clients. She is really a part of Ottawa family.

Shame on Bell Media. when you have outstanding employees, loyal and dedicated to their jobs/careers and have become a part of the media family a name we recognize and a face we can identify with as a part of our community family you should respect the quality and dedicated years of service this person has invested in to you and the public at large. Gone are the years with Max Keeping and the other lady that passed away. If Max was still at the helm this BS would not take place and he would not accept this cutting of a phenomenal representative that we have piped into our home to bring us news every night as we sit in front of our televisions to hear what went on in the world and in our cities and communities on a daily basis. So on April 9, 2015, Bell Media's president Kevin Crull stepped down and was replaced by Mary Ann Turcke, the subsidiary's former head of media sales. The move came following allegations reported by The Globe and Mail that, after the CRTC's March 2015 decision to mandate that pay television providers offer a la carte packages, Crull ordered all Bell-owned news properties, including CTV News, not to air any interviews with or footage depicting CRTC head Jean-Pierre Blais during reports regarding the decision. Although the CTV News Channel program Power Play and a report aired on local evening newscasts complied with Crull's order, the CTV National News that night defied Crull's demand by airing a story on the changes that included remarks by Blais. CTV News president Wendy Freeman, Ottawa bureau chief Robert Fife, and the program's anchor Lisa LaFlamme felt that the inclusion of remarks by Blais were necessary due to the nature of the story. Glad I switched to Global news long ago. And why did I do that, forsaking local content? I could no longer tolerate Graham Richardson tripping over his words far too frequently. And in his industry that ought to matter. As soon as I heard Ms. Meehan was let go, I immediately wondered why it was she over her male counterpart. So it boils down to money does it? Bell's shareholders must be duly impressed. I hope the extra returns were worth it.

Truly shocked, saddened and totally disgusted with Bell Media. Brainless decision and all about making more profits for their shareholders. Ottawa deserves better!

Shameful treatment By Bell Media!

While I realize that Carolann's salary was probably higher, it is just wrong to let go of her while younger and newer reporters remain on. (Sorry Matt et al) We trust Carolapnn and have come to feel when she delivers the news, she does so with a personal perspective that resonate with Ottawatonions. The news that she delivers speaks to us all as members of the same community. When the news was announced that both Carolann Meehan and Caroline Waldo were let go we changed the channel. And we will continue to change the channel.

CTV Ottawa News is NOT the same without Carol Anne. She has to COME back! NOW

This is discusting treatment of a wonderful woman who matters to us in Ottawa

This news is very surprising and upsetting because when I watched the news it felt comfortable knowing that Carole Anne was reporting and she did so professionally and with heart!! I really missed her when she took leave after the demise of her husband and very happy to see her return! If Carol Anne is in total agreement and leaving with a very generous retirement package then fine. But, if you forced her out after 27 years of loyalty and commitment to her job, for no good reason, shame on you!!!! There's something very fishy with this turn of events!!! It's the nature of the news business, the truth will be reveled, it always does!!!!
