I was shocked when I read that Carol Anne had been let go as co-anchor on the 6:00 news [which I watch daily]. Shame on you Bell Media.

Carol Anne Meehan deserves the anchor position more than Graham Richardson. Carol Anne has spent thousands of hours during her career helping to make Ottawa the community is today and making CTV Ottawa the most-watched news broadcast in the National Capital Region. While it is clear Graham Richardson is a competent news anchor, he does not have the warmth and connection with the Ottawa community that Carol Anne has. Graham, in my opinion, has never fit in as a co-host on the CTV Ottawa evening news. He is awkward when it comes to the kind of ad-libbing banter that creates character and warmth and a close relationship with the viewing public in the National Capital Region. Carol Anne Meehan has that in spades plus she knows the region inside and out. She deserves to serve as CTV Ottawa's News anchor at 6:00 p.m.
Bell Media, fix the problem you have created before it's too late.

Bell Media should be ashamed of themselves. Carol Anne knows Ottawa and reports the news to the viewers with care and compassion. I know I will no longer be watching the news on CTV I will switch to CBC.

My first reaction to hearing about Carol Anne being laid off was 'you have to be kidding me!'...makes NO sense at all. She's been an excellent news anchor and we all love her! Umm, what about seniority?...

Bell Media has made an egregious mistake in both the firing of Carol Anne Meehan and Carolyn Waldo. Carol Anne Meehan was the embodiment of class, trustworthiness and professionalism with that irresistible touch of girl next door; someone you feel you could strike a conversation with. Not only should they have left Carol Anne as lead anchor, if someone had to go, they should have fired her junior co-anchor Graham Richardson. Carolyn Waldo was a riot; I just loved her wit! I will think of ways I can avoid supporting Bell Media in any way I can. Thy have made a HUGE mistake!!
