Support CTV Ottawa News Anchor Carol Anne Meehan

Carol Anne was the heart and soul of the news after our dear Max passed. Got rid of all Bell services years ago and went with the competition, have had no problems whatsoever. Switched last week to CBC news and enjoy it. Congrats to those who have left Bell/plan to in protest. Richardson is a stuffed shirt, don't miss seeing his humourless, unemotional face. You were wonderful Carol Anne, the best is yet to come!

Max Keeping would be so angry.............as am I!!

I will boycott CJOH 6pm New Ottawa until Bell Media announces the mistake they made in so brutally firing CaroleAnne Meehan with no warning to her viewing family (audience) or for that matter to her. We do not condone this abrasive manner, nor keeping on Graham Richardson who is new to us all and you probably are required to pay less! This is Ottawa folks...we care for our own and have no time for your GREED and LACK of COMPASSION!

We will miss you each evening at 6:00p.m. telling us the latest news.

I can't believe this news....I now live in BC but have lived in Ottawa for over 30 years.....Carol Anne is the face of Ottawa....she made the news hour interesting and worth watching. If CTV is too blind to see this, I truly hope someone snatches her up quickly!

Anyone know if we are getting anywhere with this travesty?

I am in shock that Carol Anne Meehan is gone from CTV. What is Bell Media trying to prove? Why lay off someone so wonderful and with such seniority? We are 2015 so why is there an Ottawa station that is again predominantly male staffed again? What did Carol Anne ever do to deserve being laid off? She has been the face of CTV for me for 27 years. Her and Max Keeping are what made CTV evening news. I'm sure Max Keeping is rolling in his grave at your awful decision.

I loved Carol Ann and looked forward to the news. She was an excellent news anchor and also gave compassion while being accurate. She had a wonderful personality and I was so proud that she represented Ottawa. You have made a huge mistake. I will no longer watch CTV news. You have been so unproffesional in giving the news to her and others. I hope someone else snaps her up.

We really miss Carol Anne.

Carol Anne was a great anchor and a consummate professional. She has been so for her entire career. Whoever made the decision to lay her off (and her colleges) should be ashamed and embarrassed. But they are probably not. It is a disgraceful corporate mentality of dehumanizing employees and treating people as numbers and share that "justifies" these decisions.

So Bell Media has grown so much that it no longer cares about the public. Shame on you Bell Media, I am sure that moves like this will come back to haunt you. This is crass behaviour. You can still make amends and re-instate Carol-Ann.

Please reconsider your hasty decision. Or explain to the loyal watchers of your network why it was necessary to lay off Carol Anne.

Loyalty does not mean anything anymore.

Bell Media gave away a car this morning.

Carol Anne is easy to connect with. She has a very rare ability to come across as one of us regular people. She was the reason I watched CJOH news. Without her its just not the same. I will now switch to CBC news.
