Carol Anne is more than a reader of the news to us each evening in our homes. She is a genuine, caring, compassionate, intelligent woman, who brings a humane touch to the ghastly news items we are often forced to hear. She is a pillar of the community, with all she has done for the Heart Institute and its fund-raising, often giving up her entire Sunday to host the telethon. She has been recognized with numerous journalism awards. She has a young family to support. I will cease watching CTV immediately if she is not re-instated. Max Keeping would be appalled at Bell Media's callous treatment of his colleague.

It's absolutely ridiculous for bell media to do this to such a well respected journalist, news anchor, and community leader.

This is a shameful decision on behalf of Bell media. She has given so much to our community.

It is a sad day when a newcomer (Graham Richardson) who has less seniority manages to keep his job and the corporate entity gets rid of someone who has devoted the majority of her career to CTV. Shame on all of you Max is turning in his grave!

It is difficult to comprehend that a valued long-standing co-anchor who was at the heart of the CTV Ottawa news team was let go over other less senior/seasoned staff. This action puts into question Bell Media's loyalty to their staff and viewership.

Very sad news indeed. Carol Ann has done so much for Ottawa. She is one of the reasons I tune into the News at 6 on CTV. I will reconsider my news channel choice. Glad I ditched Bell for my tv, phone and internet services!!

No one has Ottawa viewer's respect more than Carol Anne. Bell media has made a major mistake by only looking at their bottom line. By the way, did they notice their $183 Million in profits last year? Shame on you for a bone head move.

The feminine charm of Carol Anne Meehan is missing from the broadcast. I turned it on tonight and quickly after switched to CBC News. Maybe the CBC will be intelligent enough to hire her.

Laying off Carol Anne Meehan is a foolish decision. She knows this community and is the main reason I used to watch the news on CTV. I will no longer be watching the CTV news.

Very sad to see the callous way these 2 well known women were let go. I will begrudgingly watch other news providers for Ottawa until hopefully this decision is reversed!!!!

What crass stupidity. Next to Max Keeping, Carole Ann IS the face of the Six O'Clock News. She's an excellent anchor and community helper.
