The main reason I watched CTV was for Carol Anne! She was a voice of sanity in an insane world, and cared about the community. Plus we need more female anchors in this male-dominated role, not less!

In this case the quality of reporting and community involvement exemplified by Ms Meehan far outweighs any quantative rational used by Bell Media to lay her off. Bell Media is showing an ignorance of the Ottawa market and the sentiments of the viewing public in this region.

Bell has screwed up big time. They seem to only care about money and not about their loyal employees who not only do their jobs, but also represent their company with countless charity events. When big businesses forget who worked for the success, is when that business starts to fail.
First it was the crew at Bob-FM, now they're taking apart CJOH/CTV and everything Ernie Bushnell, Max Keeping, Carol Anne & countless others helped build.

Carol Ann has been a trusted friend in our living rooms and on our radios for 27 years. She makes the news personable in the same way her mentor Max Keeping did. I am appalled at the callousness of laying her off, especially without giving her a chance to say goodbye. We want her back. I won't watch or listen to CTV news (it will always be CJOH news to me...) unless she is returned to air.
