Carol Anne, you have my support during this difficult time. Watching you deliver the news each night was like having a friend in my living room. What Bell Media did was just dirty. I won't be watching CTV news until they bring you back.

Bell Media should be ashamed of themselves! After 27 years of dedicated service this is how they treat a pillar of the community - bring Carol Anne Meehan back - with a public apology to boot!!

A terrible decision to lay off a local icon. Who could have thought this was a good idea?

Bell Media should be ashamed. Carol Anne Meehan should never have been fired. Looks like CBC is going to get some new news watchers. Very disappointing!!

Unfortunately I am NOT surprised by Bell Media's shameful lay-off of Carol Anne Meehan. Twenty-seven years of loyal, faithful service to her Community through the position of a News Anchor on CTV Ottawa is quite an accomplishment today! Bell Media being the Corporate Giant they have become, just sickens me! They the Corporate big-wigs have no heart and definitely no soul! Carol Anne, I am so sorry for the way you have been treated by your most recent employer. But that is what happens in these huge media takeovers! My sincere thanks to you for your un-failing charitable works which I am sure will continue on by you and your family and good bye my friend. I will miss visiting with you each evening at 6PM.

Shameful that this talented journalist has been turfed. Obviously age and experience mean nothing, especially for a working single mother. I'm disgusted!

Can't believe Bell Media would lay off the face and voice of Ottawa's most trusted news station. I'm sure these Bell Media folks were all sitting beside her at Mr Max Keeping's funeral consoling her...and then they do this...what cold hearted people..I hope CTV NEWS OTTAWA tanks in the ratings and gets cancelled all together.. have no trust connection to anyone else left on the show. I'll just watch CBC Newsworld @ 6pm now. Shame on Bell Media..good thing I have Rogers Cable at home...don't want to give Bell any money..corporate world is cold but this is tasteless
