183 million profit??? Say it ain't so. You have ripped the heart and soul out of our community, not to mention all the telethons and charities which counted on Carol Annes tireless contributions. Shame on you.

I think it is disgusting how this was handled. After so many years of service they showed such lack of respect. To not even let her say goodbye to her followers, awful. Max would be utterly disgusted. Carol Anne, you will be sorely missed. Thank you so very much for all of your hard work in our community. CTV, you have lost another viewer.

Support for both Carol Anne and Carolyn Waldo. Very disappointed in CTV/Bell Media's clear lack of understanding of what the people of Ottawa value and in their deplorable (discriminatory?) treatment of these accomplished, experienced, talented and much respected women.

My wife and I are shocked and appalled at this news. A short sighted decision for sure and the destruction of local news in Ottawa. Talented and committed people to the Ottawa community are not necessarily in abundance. CJOH was built on the backs of quality people like Max Keeping, Carol Anne, Smitty, Billy Patterson, JJ, Michael O'Byrne and the list goes on and on. Shame on you Bell Media for such a short sighted decision. You goal of bringing The Toronto Media" to Ottawa is shameful. I am a news junky and you can rest assured that my dial will change and that's not favourable to you. It won't be long until CTV Ottawa will no longer exist. Also, let's call a spade a spade. How is it that an old male can have a longer TV career than that of a middle aged woman? I hope and expect the good people of Ottawa hold you accountable. Max and the good people of CJOH and Ottawa staved off a closing of CJOH on Bell Expressvu a number of years ago and I hope & trust there will be a repeat performance. I'll give it a month but my dish will be changed out to another provider if changes are not made. Shame on you!

I use to work for bell, shame on them. How many at the top lost there jobs, I suspect none, that's the way this usually works. Maybe someone at CBC will realize that a great opportunity has just been dropped in there lap. Good luck Ms. Meehan

I will not watch Ctv Ottawa if she does not come back. I have been in Ottawa since 1988 and I watch because she is part of my family!

Terrible decision by Bell Media to dismiss Carol Anne like that after 27 years and second only to Max as a trusted face of news in Ottawa. We watched CBC news at 6pm tonight for the first time and will continue to do so.

Carol Anne is Ottawa. This is a terrible thing Bell Media has done.

I think the way Carol Anne was laid off was terrible. The community needs people like Carol Ann to hold the torch for our community causes as well as doing a fine work for her employer. She has done so much for the Ottawa Valley community. I can't believe that this decision is based soul on an austerity measure. Sometimes there are more dynamics that dollars and cents, this is an ethical issue of valuing people. I personally think that this is morally and ethically wrong. Savings! She helped in saving people lives through her concerted Telethons efforts. Bah Hum Bug!
