Age Appropriate Books for Westfield Washington Students

These books belong in the counselors office, not in the library available for check out. Another question to be answered is how they got there in the first place!

This feels like recruitment for predators when promoted to pre-pubescent populations. This is an area of conversation for parents not educators.

These inappropriate books must be kept out of our public schools.

Schools need to teach kids reading, writing and arithmetic and allow parents to teach their kids the values that they believe in. Schools are seriously overstepping parents authority. They are indoctrinating our kids with a corrupt liberal worldview. It’s so wrong!!

I am strongly opposed to the schools using our children as guinea pigs in this political social-emotional-diversity-equity experiment. These books and topics are not appropriate for the majority of the elementary school population. If a child or family is struggling with such tough issues, the counselor should have these books in their office to help with PARENTAL PERMISSION. WWS should always defer to parents’ decisions for minor students regarding these controversial, politically motivated topics. Better yet, they should not be ushered into our schools under false pretenses and flowery language. Focus on academics and let parents raise their children.

Please keep our children innocent Remove this book. It does not hold the truth.

Books are a foundation to our development. We have enough bad influences on television it is good to have a safe place in a book.

Those books should definitely have parent approval and should not be in the school library. Putting those books in a school library is overstepping a parents authority. Schools need to stick to teaching reading, writing, and arithmetic and let the parents teach their own kids everything else.

These books are confusing to our kids and should be kept out of the schools. These issues should be dealt with at home.

Give us back our children!

Please allow the parents to help navigate any gender issues we may have with our children.

These books should not be allowed in schools. This is a topic for the home. We give families the option to opt out of bad touch good touch but we are going to put this out for anyone to pick up and read, doesn’t make sense. The more you put this in their face the more they are going to think about it and think oh I don’t want to wear a dress so I must be a boy. Which isn’t the case. Also Science has proven that no matter how many injections you get or surgery to remove things you are still the gender you were born as. Keep schools for learning math, reading etc..

This should not be discussed in elementary school. When my son was in 1st grade (in California) he had a friend that told him a secret. That he was really a she but wanted people to think she was a he because she would rather hang out with the boys and do boy things. I told my son she can still be a girl and do those things. It’s called a tomboy. She also told my son she was allowed to use the boys or girls bathroom.

Access by parent permission only. Located in counselor's office to prevent unintentional access by students whose parents are unaware. Please also consider non-English speaking families that would be overwhelmed with the task of searching databases to "opt out." It's hard enough for these families to understand what happens with their children at school.

This is not for the schools to teach. This is for parents to teach. By putting these in the schools it excludes my Christian viewpoints and goes against the all inclusion of everyone that seems to be so popular in culture these days. If this is going to be in the classrooms and read the the Bible should also.

These books are inappropriate for elementary age children. As a parent these topics have no place in school and is my job to have these conversations with my children when I feel it is time. Let’s stick with schools teaching the intangible subjects like math, science, language arts, not political hot buttons which just isn’t fair to our kiddos as it strips them of their innocence way too soon.
