These are the type of topics that should be discussed with children by parents/guardians at home first. If a parent/guardian is unwilling or unable to talk to their child about these topics, resources should be available in the licensed, trained school counselor’s office and not in the school library. I’ve read several of the books in question, and they aren’t age appropriate. My first grader would be confused as to what these books are trying to explain.

These topics belong in a public library that parents have access to and can determine if appropriate for their child to chrck out and read with their guidance.

Schools need to focus on teaching the children reading, mathematics, & science. The parents should be the ones to teach morals & values.

I do not agree with these books at the elementary, intermediate, or middle school levels. This discussion should be left up to the parent(s) and school personnel should be involved on a case-by-case basis. The focus of education should be on core academic areas.

Our schools should filter books that contradict science. Books that contradict basic genetics are confusing and inappropriate for children.

Several things have slipped in while parents haven’t been allowed into the schools due to Covid. It’s really a lack of procedural oversight.

Children should not have access to these books. Gender identity conversations with young children open the door for unnecessary confusion. Parents alone should determine if, when, and how to address this sensitive topic with their children. It is not the role of the public school system to indoctrinate our children.

A friend’s daughter was introduced to these gender identity content at school . She decided she wanted to be a boy and has now tried to commit suicide twice.
