Age Appropriate Books for Westfield Washington Students

This is a subject that goes beyond the scope of what schools should teach or give access to young children.

Sad that this is even being debated! Stopped trying to push a radical agenda down kids throats!

Stop pushing the Indoctrination on our kids!!

Protect our children who are so easily influenced but too young to make important decisions

I agree that all books in your school should be age appropriate!

I really feel it should be up to the parents to decide for their kids what is right, not the schools or any form of government.

Please remove these books that cause confusion and conflict with parents teaching now !

I fear for our children’s future. Parents have every right....and obligation to teach their children about such topics.

This is NOT the Government’s job to ‘Educate’ children on this topic.

Young children should NOT be allowed contact with any type of books like that. Books should not even be in the library.

What’s next? They take GOD out of schools then act like this is ok. If children feel this way, they need to talk to their parents to get the appropriate support they need.

These books should not be in elementary schools. Kids need to be kids and not be thinking about their sexuality. Who is purchasing and choosing these books for the shelves of our elementary schools? Librarians, PTO’s, teachers, ? The process needs to be revised it seems.

Kris, there is a book called “How to Commit the Perfect Murder”. I would hope that we can agree that an elementary library isn’t the right place for that book. I don’t feel that by banning it from the elementary library I am forcing my beliefs on the children.

While age appropriate is good, this should be discussed in the home first, then a plan with the school counselor, and those that handle that child’s specific needs.
