Age Appropriate Books for Westfield Washington Students

No public school system has the right or authority to usurp a parent's rights in their child's life and education.

Please keep these books away from vulnerable children!

As a taxpayer and grandmother, I am very concerned about these books being available to elementary aged children, or to any children in the government schools. And if children come to teachers or guidance counselors with questions about the topics in these books-parents should be notified immediately so they can deal with those issues at home.

There is a time and place for everything. Maybe we could make choices that are comfortable to parents, just as we have always considered parents in the matters of sex education.

These issues should NOT be in our schools! Discussed they are being introduced!

I am against books being read to my children.

Young children should not be indoctrinated with “school books” referring to their gender or sexuality! Their minds are so malleable and changeable! Let them grow up till they are ready. They can make a better decision. They will let us know, for sure.

I do not wish for my name to be used publicly.

Education in this area should be left to parents.

Stop the indoctrination in public schools.

BEGIN BRIEF RANT- God has assigned three governments within the world: the family, the state, and the church. In previous ages, the church was a sort of moral authority that functioned as a civil umbrella for the entire community, even for those without any professed faith. Evil was prevented and restrained by the presence of good and godly people who spoke up for truth with love. Now, the church functions like they believe that the state knows what's best for the county's children. In other words, the church has functionally allowed the state to become the moral authority for our nation's youth. The emergence of this petition, albeit encouraging, is actually only addressing a symptom (inappropriate books for children) of the bigger problem (the abandonment of absolute truth and the embrace of a relativism under the name social-emotional learning). I could share hundreds of inspiring anecdotes of true, good, and beautiful things that happen with moral teachers, committed administrators, and lives transformed when I worked in public schools. However, the tsunami of immoral secularism under the guise of social-emotional learning has already been crashing upon the shores for a while and the inspiring anecdotes don't outweigh the massive numbers of kids who will lose their faith due to immoral influences at their local school. For every 10 inspiring anecdotes posted on social media from a public school's central office, there are 90 stories you won't the hear of parents devastated by the poor choices that their kids make. What if moral people stopped feeding the secular beast? Edmund Burke said in the 18th century, "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is good men to do nothing." I hope that this petition is the start of more good men standing up to the immoral imperialism taking place in our democracy. Unfortunately, most of the 'good men' are not aware of the subtle evils silently triumphing in classrooms all throughout Hamilton

Schools are not indoctrination centers & should stick to education with core subjects. This is child abuse and brainwashing!

These books don’t belong in school libraries. The parents who want them, can put them in their home libraries.
