it's ridiculous that students are being pulled out of class for something as trivial as shorts/a skirt being an inch too short or not having a collar on their shirt. it's interfering with their learning and holds them back in class. no one is focusing on the fact that your jacket has stripes on it; they're focusing on their class work and trying to pass the class. no one cares what other students are wearing because they're at school to learn, not to judge people's outfits.

within reason, many outfits that are considered against the dress code are perfectly acceptable and decent for outerwear, especially during winter time as not everyone can find a straight black or grey jacket to wear indoors,

smart kids who all they care about is classes and not getting in trouble get in trouble over uniform and it goes on our permanent record it's not fair. South wind which is not a good school compared to us doesn't have uniform or restrictions on the way we dress

I'd actually like to see the uniform abolished entirely since it's an infringement on speech and the school is a gov institution so such restrictions are illegal according to the first amendment, but something is better than nothing.
