This is wrong!

Not only is the decision bad for Swedish and European agility, but it is also against the rules of the FCI and the European legalization.

The WAO is the first international agility event created and managed by agility competitors (Greg Derrett and Monica Percival). It is not run under the auspices of any agility organization, and therefore, is not a FCI related event.

In a letter dated the 20th September 2012 FCI’s lawyer, Aurore Jansen, stated:

“.... in FCI, none of our rules precludes someone (even a judge) from attending a competition organized by an association which is not member of FCI....... FCI has never taken any sanctions against a judge, handler or « an other » for having attended a « non FCI » competition. The FCI has no right to take sanctions against individuals.”

A similar case: In May 2011 the Swedish Competition authority (Konkurrensverket), due to the EU-legalization, ordered the Swedish Automobile Sports Federation to change their rules so that they no longer prevented licensees from enrolling in, attending or holding positions at motor racing championships that have not been sanctioned by the Federation. The Swedish Competition authority clearly stated that demanding loyalty to the Federation was against the competition laws.

We sincerely ask the SKC to reconsider the decision to take Nisse’s judging license and to do the right thing (according to both FCI, EU-laws and agility competitors) and let him continue with his remarkable work he has put in to dog agility.
