HB2439 is Detrimental to Texas Cities

This destroys the beauty of the neighborhoods we Texans have worked hard to build. Legislation like this makes me consider leaving this state.

City design and architecture are the only thing that separates one city from another. The market place always dictates who will and who won’t live in areas where cost may be higher due to amenities offered. The success of Southlake has to be one of those examples !!!! What good is city government if a city can’t govern how it looks!!!

This bill is a very bad idea.

Please veto this bill. Home rule cities should continue the right to enforce standards that the citizens want in their environment. Aside for aesthetics, insurance rates will go up due to having inconsistent and less fire-resistive building materials.

We prefer local/city control over what is acceptable to our city. Quite frankly we expect it!

Concerned about consequences of bill 2439

Please do not enact this law which will no doubt have a detrimental impact on the safety and aesthetics of our community.

HB2439 should be vetoed as it will cause more problems including liability, lawsuits, personal injury, damages or even death.

This is a blatant piece of legislature to cater to developers over citizens and needs to be vetoed immediately!

I think the State should stay out of city government. Let the local residents and cities decide about quality, safety, and appearance of new construction.
