HB2439 is Detrimental to Texas Cities

Aesthetic requirements are a necessity to keep the historic or traditional nature and individualism of cities in tact. Aesthetic code and construction code are two separate but equally important items. Design matters.

This is intrusive overreach into cities’ and communities’ abilities to govern how they grow.

Please keep this decision at the local level

This bill will cripple city’s ability to promote quality development

Bad legislation. Let our locally elected officials serve and make decisions for our own town..... not The legislators in the capital!

Our local standards must remain exactly that, local.

Aesthetics matter to all of us who are in the design and construction professions (as well as to the common citizen). This appears to be a Bill that should be vetoed.

I live in a community that has high design standards and it shows in how developed we are. We as a community we have decided on how we want our community to look as we grow. And having those decisions made by the people living in the community is paramount to our success in the future.

The aesthetic look and feel in our community is most important to keeping the prominent people living here to still live here.

Veto this bill

This proposal will kill the resell value on most of these planned communities.

This bill is a power grab by developers. Development does not lead to economic growth!

Please do not sign HB2439. This bill adversely affect our city and retroactively affects zooming already in place for years. We have had uproar in our city over allowing development already. We have tried to responsibly honor state law while respecting the wishes of our community.

This is a shortsighted measure.

Please do not sign a bill taking away the control of cities and towns to require materials that help make communities better places to live.

Please veto this bill. We need to allow city government to maintain their ability to govern their community.

Deed covenants and building materials standards must remain as is with quality and restrictions in-place. Protecting our home investment and quality of life is a top priority.
