Elitism at it's worst

I would like to joing, I have been playing in Mallorca's team professionally.

DCU Soccer fully support the right of our fellow IUFU member,UU Coleraine to enter the Collingwood Cup in Galway.We urge the UU authorities to reconsider their opposition to their entry as it flies in the face of the spirit of intervarsity sporting competition.

To have represented UUC at Collingwood level in the 1980s was a tremendous honour for me personally, which helped develop me as both a person and professionally, and it is a crying shame future students at UUC will no longer enjoy this opportunity. I urge the university authorities to reconsider their position.

Let UUC take part and have their own team! Doing no harm by doing so.

As members of the IUFU which is the governing body of the Collingwood Cup the Coleraine student football club entered the 2015 Collingwood to be held at NUI Galway in February 2015 and were drawn against University of Limerick. They now await the response of the UU authorities particularly whether they will carry out their 'threats' to take action against individual students and organisations who have 'misrepresented' the university including the withdrawal of funding and the use of university facilities! All the students want is equality of opportunity! Shame on those in UU who are denying them this and 'threatening' them as well! Shame!

This imposed policy claims it was agreed with students, that it will promote equality of opportunity and that it is required by the governing body! All of these claims are untrue! The policy was not agreed with Coleraine and Magee student footballers. It denies equality of opportunity not promotes equality - for example only one UU Collingwood team as opposed to three. The IUFU who is the Collingwood's governing body has specific rules that allow campus sides such as Coleraine and Magee to play in the Collingwood!

This is unfair and discriminatory against all the players who have worked out and trained to have the right to enter the competition.

Absolute disgrace, this decission isn't influencing me to join the Coleraine next year! Equal opportunity needs to happen
