Thanks to all those who have signed this petition in support of Coleraine and Magee students being able to send teams to the Collingwood Cup as they have always been able to do. Particular thanks to those from other universities and colleges who have signed - your support is much appreciated! Thanks to those from Jordanstown who have signed! If you know anyone else who would be supportive please share the petition with them and ask to sign!

It is one of the highlights as a student to participate in competitions with other universities throughout Ireland. Jordanstown would tend to dominate any joint team so Coleraine and Magee would have little representation

The opportunity to compete for the University of Ulster Coleraine at the Collinwood Cup should not be denied to current or future students. The Coleraine campus has shown that it has the students to field a competitive team and their administrators the resources to fund the team. I can see no reasonable argument to deny the Coleraine students this opportunity.

It's disappointing that so many students will miss out on an opportunity of a lifetime by not being able to compete. No real reason has been given for the omission but it's pretty obvious that the so called elite campus gets opportunity while the little boys get cast to the side.

Save UUC football

Proud to have played for UUC football teams between 1988 and 1990. Always good rivalry between us and Magee and UUJ and see no reason why this tradition should not continue.

I attended Queen's University and always loved out battles with Jordanstown, Magee and Coleraine. It would be a travesty if they became one team. There would be no camaraderie in the team as it would be so disparate. The three teams need to be separate.

Football for all

The UU authorities ought to be ashamed of their bullying tactics. The exclusion from the best soccer tournament available to the students of Ireland, is not only elitist but discriminatory. Coleraine and Magee students must be supported in both sports development and academic life.

As a student, I spent half a year at UUC. I joined the soccer team and had a lot of unforgettable experiences - to be part of the UUC team playing the Collingwood Cup in 1988, was a special one for me as a foreign student. Getting to know players from other parts in Nortehrn Ireland and Ireland, competing with them. It would really be a bad decision to centralise University soccer..

I believe the university of Ulster should encourage integration not segregation!

University is all about getting life experiences by taking away football from the students at the uni you are creating an elitist society for studends I think somebody tried that a few years ago his name was Hitler

Keep soccer at Coleraine alive

I played in the collingwood final for UUC and was very proud to represent Coleraine. I know the dedication and time that Tom and all the staff and players put it so I would be very disappointed to see the end of UUC.
