We, the undersigned owners of property abutting and in proximity to United Parcel Service (UPS), 3930 Pleasantdale Road, Doraville, GA 30340, from the Northcrest subdivision and surrounding neighborhoods, do hereby petition United Parcel Service (UPS) and Dekalb County Board of Commissioners to take such action as may be necessary to cause the construction of a noise reduction permanent structure along the perimeter of the business property and any other noise mitigating implements required to lower the noise disturbance caused by UPS operations. We request that these improvement(s) be paid for by United Parcel Service (UPS) and in accordance with county ordinances. We are requesting this construction due to the continuous noise coming from the United Parcel Service (UPS) causing a negative impact to the quality of life and health of residents. The amount and time of noise is in violation of (Ord. No. 10—20, Pt. l, 11-16-10) and causing UPS to be a nuisance.

We hit a new level of momentum that proves the noise at the facility is a neighborhood priority. Take this link to your local Facebook groups today and demand that the DeKalb County Board of Commissioners finally address our quality of life.

I'm a good 1,200 feet away and have noticed an increase in the noise coming from the UPS facility over the years even while we've taken efforts to better soundproof our home. If the distribution center is growing in size or capacity, the right thing to do would be to counter that growth with appropriate sound-reducing measures and procedures.

I live on Heartwood Lane, not all that close to the UPS facility, yet I still hear loud noises coming from there several times each night — clanks, squeals, and other machinery-type sounds — often at very late hours. I find this both annoying and unacceptable. I hope resolution of this issue will be coming soon.

I live directly behind the UPS property on Eaglerock. I require the use of white noise machines at night throughout my home for sleep. I am awakened by clanking and loud machine sounds periodically. The noise is very unpleasant.

We live near the corner of Summitridge and Eaglerock (very close to UPS) and we can't spend peaceful time in our garden or ever have our windows open because of the constant loud beeping sounds. It really is unbearable. Please at least turn the beeping (backing up) sounds off while your trucks are in the facility.

Anything that can be done to reduce the vibration from the bouncing of UPS trailers would be most helpful. I've lived here since 1983 and the noise level continues to get worse and worse each day. It isn't healthy and particularly for a lady of my age!!!

This is not a situation of homeowners moving to a nuisance. This is a company repeatedly violating the law and impairs neighbors quiet enjoyment of their homes.

I live farther away from the facility than many of my Northcrest neighbors, but I still hear the strange noises. If you ever watched the TV show Lost it sounds a lot like the smoke monster! I can't imagine how loud it is for my neighbors that border the UPS facility.
