I have more than 4 guests that have been waiting to see me graduate for years. Commencement needs to be on the quad.

UNCA Class of '04. Graduation should be on the quad. Period.

So as an update they announced that they will be holding it on the quad "weather permitting". Many of us are going to continue on the fight considering this victory is a soft one as if they deem there to be a threat of rain even several days ahead they will move it back to Kimmel where the 4 ticket limit will once again apply and families will be forced to choose. A group of us will be meeting in the lobby of the library (near the robe) at 11:45 tomorrow to discuss how to best improve the backup in case the weather does not permit. All are welcome.

I always imagined graduating on the quad with my family in attendance. 4 tickets is not even enough for my parents and siblings. My grandmother has supported me all throughout college and will not be able to attend if we only receive 4 tickets. I would prefer to graduate on the quad and receive more tickets, or atleast in the civic center with more tickets.

As an alumni of the university I think graduation on the quad is a tradition that should be honored each year.

I understand that there are risks to having commencement on the quad: rain, mud, hot weather, etc. But only 4 tickets? That is absurd. There is no way so many people are walking that they can't offer the usual 6 tickets. If the university's growth was going to be that much of a problem, then Kimmel Arena should have been built to accommodate that growth. Move graduation back to the Quad, or book the Civic Center and offer more tickets.

We have not paid tuition for that past 4 years just to be given 4 tickets.

Give out four parking passes instead if you really want to restrict families and students.

Even those of us that want to bring only a few family members still need more than four tickets. That's hardly enough for immediate family. For split households, it is entirely infeasable

4 tickets is not NEARLY enough for immediately family, much less significant others or close friends.
