Very sad and upset to see ALL the trees that were taken out on SW Walker at NW 185th and SW Walker at NE Stucki.

Watching unchecked development destroy what I thought were protected areas has been devastating to see. We are losing our natural areas in Washington county at an exponential rate with no consideration of water ways or green space preservation. We need rules in place to protect our natural areas and the livability of WashingtonCounty.

The decimation of trees in the Washington County area that I live in and the 13 years I’ve been here has been astounding. I recognize the unincorporated area is not well regulated and trees and wildlife, and all of the humans who live here are suffering under this massive development game. There must be rules put in place with timelines and evaluation before you can just cut down on ancient forest.

We can't keep cutting down trees across the Portland metro area. We need them for their oxygen, their cooling effects, and yes, their beauty.

I fear the giant Doug Fir at the north entrance to David's Windsor Park (158th & Scholl's Ferry) could end up on a list like this. We need to protect our big trees.

YES! I've long been concerned about how some people are so selfish or ignorant about the need for trees. Thank you for starting this petition

Years ago, I came home to find 2 very old, mature douglas fir trees, one in the next door neighbor's yard and the other in the back neighbor's yard gone. Reason? One neighbor had no reason, the other saw the tree company in the neighborhood and decided they were tired of cleaning their gutters! Sigh...Protecting mature, especially native trees in existing properties should be a top priority. It should not be as easy as flagging down a tree company because they are working in the neighborhood and suddenly decided get rid of their tree. Tree permit? Not in Washington County. This is what we need to change and soon.

I have long believed that mature/maturing trees should be given significant consideration and protection in areas of new and existing development with an even greater protection being given to native species.
