I was alarmed too read that some proposed regulations would allow for removal of trees to speed affordable housing development, making it hard to protect our wetland areas. I am all for affordable housing, but we can figure out how to do this responsibly while protecting nature; both being quality of life issues.

Protect the trees, now more than ever! I am seeing so many healthy trees coming down since the storm. That puts the remaining trees more at risk. How is it legal to cut down beautiful healthy trees that have been standing since before we were living here? There needs to be more protection and restrictions in place. We live among trees, there is risk. We have insurance for any damage that may happen in a freak storm. We can fix a roof or replace a car. We cannot replace big, old trees! Please protect our future by preventing unnecessary trees from being cut down in our community.

I enthusiastically support the development of an urban forestry plan to guide the current and future preservation of trees as invaluable resources and allies in combating local climate change. The community must come together as stewards of this resource. This is especially needed in unincorporated areas that are at risk of being exploited for financial gain.

We need our trees! We need to protect the ones we still have left. They give us shade, fresh air and so much more.

In the interest of future generations, we as a community need to advocate for the protection of trees. Trees are not easily replaceable and the role that trees play in our environment, in medicine, in our
economics, in science, and in so many areas are significant. Let’s not wait any longer in creating sustainable policies within Washington County that will ultimately benefit all generations.

A city without trees is a wasteland. Extend safeguards for existing trees, such Beaverton's "Protected Grove" designation

I have been horrified at the large, healthy established trees taken down on private property because of last years' storm which scared folks. We need someone to educate people and inspect trees so this does not keep happening!

Mature trees are a resource that cannot be replaced. New trees are needed to support livability for all and climate initiatives.

With known climate change, we need to protect our trees and greenways, including maintaining what we have and expanding to underserved communities.

It is vitally important to save our trees especially old growth as our climate is getting warmer.
