Keep Dundee Safe - Stop the Farnam Street Roundabouts (Victory by unanimous vote!)

Dangerous for folks walking. You have no data, only hearsay from other roundabouts in Omaha. My grandkids (9&12) use 50&52 daily. Data will show heavy pedestrian use on Farnam.

lived in the neighborhood since 1961 this roundabouts at those 2 locations sound terrible. not sure why we still have farnam st running one way 2 x a day. see no need for that in the present day.

Making Farnam two way with the traffic light changes is, in my opinion, the best way to move forward. I agree with the individual who noted that roundabouts work well when designed and implemented before development, and implemented during the building of developments and streets. We don't have that option. Roundabouts built on Farnam now would take portions of existing yards, and still be too small to accommodate large vehicles, EG semis (yes, they do come on Farnam) and delivery trucks. I've seen these wriggle through the Happy Hollow roundabout on some occasions.

The roundabout on Happy Hollow is treacherous in winter. We don't need more accidents in our neighborhood due to treacherously slippery roundabouts, in addition to all the other reasons mentioned for the dangers of adding roundabouts to Farnam. Please just fix Farnam by turning it into a normal two-way road! I was hit on Farnam one morning at 6:45 by a driver who left for work a few minutes early and failed to look both ways. And it is constantly frustrating to have to check the time to figure out which way I can get out of my neighborhood. Please save millions of dollars and just give us a normal street!

Round abouts are an unsafe approach to pedestrians on Farnam street. I live in the neighborhood and walk it daily. Drivers are amateur at watching for and yielding to pedestrians when in round abouts. This is a family friendly area and there are many children who walk to school or to friends’ houses. Round abouts need more study in before determining that the large investment of dollars is more beneficial than the current stop light approach.

Children will not be able to cross 52 & Farnam safely when the traffic is heavy.

We lived on 51 Ave between Dodge and Farnam for over 20 years. What I miss most about that neighborhood is its easy walkability and residential feel. I believe the roundabouts would make it extremely difficult for pedestrians to cross Farnam especially at 52 street.

Roundabouts are completely unnecessary and a waste of our money. Please be sensible about this: Make the traffic 2-way and increase police presence to catch red light runners. Better yet, install license plate cameras on the traffic lights to catch them.

I feel they need to do a full year trial of 2-way all the time before making any changes. I bike, and round-abouts are more dangerous than normal intersections when I am riding.

With the latest data, it appears to me roundabouts will make Farnam St. less safe.

Do not put in round abouts. We don't want them. It does not solve the one way problem on Farnam and was not even studied properly. Farnam should be 2 way all the time. Period. Do the right thing and do not put in the round abouts.

We have a house in Dundee, and drive the area a lot. I do not like the roundabout on Happy Hollow, when driving towards UNO. It feels very unsafe because it is so small from one entry to the next, and I don't want to see more on Farnam. Cars don't always stop for pedestrians at roundabouts.

Lived in Dundee for 34 years before moving. Make Farnam a 2 way street!!

install speed bumps if speeding is the problem, much cheaper, less hassle, and present round about on Happy Hollow is a deteriorating mess. Enforce traffic laws, ticket red light runners
