No roundabouts

Absolutely opposed to roundabouts at 50th and/or 52nd and Farnam. They will create nothing but problems for drivers and pedestrians as well as damaging the nature of the neighborhood itself. Roundabouts are simply not necessary.

We do not need roundabouts at 50th and 52nd and Farnam intersections. We need Farnam to be 2way all day every day. Thank you.

I have lived in communities that tried to install roundabouts to disastrous results, and these were on streets much less busy than Farnam. Omaha does not have many roundabouts and people struggle to learn how to navigate them if they do not regularly use them.

Roundabouts may be a designers' choice but NOT the pedestrian's choice! And certainly not for that corner. situation. Roundabouts are difficult to negotiate for pedestrians. And on a downhill slope seems to be asking for trouble in winter or rainy driving conditions. And pedestrians will have trouble with it. They already have trouble crossing during the one-way times of rush hour. Too much traffic? Well, how about encouraging mass transit (how about making mass transit more convenient!)? We've taken long walks south to Leavenworth from our home and a roundabout would definitely discourage crossing the street. It's also not at all in keeping with the residential nature of the neighborhood, takes too much land to create--hence, poor design choice. However, please make the street two-way. It currently during rush hour is a nightmare to cross. Make it two-way which would be more negotiable and reasonable for everyone concerned in the neighborhood, including drivers AND pedestrians of all ages. Try it out to see what happens.

No roundabouts

I have always lived at 53rd and Farnam until recently. My children and grandchildren have walked to school using Farnam. How can children cross a roundabout at 52nd and Farnam? That is so dangerous. When I have walked with my children and grandchildren to Dundee School, often times there are many parents walking with children. Thankfully, Dundee is a walking neighborhood. Please don't put a roundabout in that is dangerous for walkers.

Just say NO to roundabouts in residential areas!

Nobody wants a third grader navigating a roundabout. 148hrs of 168hrs those intersections work fine. Esp since the 4second “red in both directions” traffic light. 2 way 24/7..take the signs down and give the neighborhood what they want.

Farnam street two way street.

Cross traffic flows are so uneven at different times of day that a round about will create more problems rather than decrease problems. Also, pedestrian safety is greatly compromised .

I strongly endorse this letter. I fully support converting Farnam Street to two-way traffic all day as it will result in a slow down of the 'Indy 500-like' speeds that currently occur during the one-directional traffic periods. The light changes have already been effective to limit the running of red lights, and the use of roundabouts would greatly increase the risk to pedestrians (many of whom are school-age kids) as it would not require traffic to stop. Please pursue the 'two-way traffic all day' option first and measure its effectiveness. Please don't use the competing views about the roundabouts as an excuse not to do anything. Two-way traffic will reduce risk, decrease speeds and noise during the current 4-hours of one-directional traffic on Farnam.

The roundabouts will cause hazardous and possibly deadly outcomes especially for our children and aging parents who need to walk from south of Farnam to Dundee and St. Margaret Mary schools and other locations north of Farnam. No Roundabouts PLEASE!

Try monitoring for a 1year time period, having two way traffic permanently before undergoing a costly round about permanent change.

Roundabouts will be a total waste of money and are extremely annoying. I am very concerned about pedestrian safety. Since the light changes have decreased the accident numbers, why are we still considering this?

I strongly endorse this letter. Converting Farnam Street to two-way traffic all day, every day is an inexpensive and straight forward solution. Please pursue this option first.
