Keep Dundee Safe - Stop the Farnam Street Roundabouts (Victory by unanimous vote!)

Roundabouts extremely dangerous. Drivers will focus on other cars not pedestrians. Intersections too busy for roundabouts

As a retired Safety professional, it is my opinion that these proposed roundabouts DO NOT fit in this “walking-friendly” area, and pedestrian safety is a MAJOR concern.

I am a former resident of Dundee and a current patient at UNMC and therefore use Farnam St regularly. Roundabouts are a not well suited for this well established neighborhood. We must listen to the current residents and come up with a solution that works for everyone!

Roundabouts do not belong near children or the infirm.

This is a walking neighborhood with lots of older people and youngsters on our sidewalks. Round-abouts DO NOT provide a safe path for anyone trying to cross these streets. Please vote NO!

Roundabout: the most expensive, most disruptive and least effective option; and infringes on private property rights to boot. I can't imagine who thought it's a good idea. Just add some signage and perhaps yellow lights before these intersections. KISS.

We need to start designing Omaha for people instead of cars. When you design for people you get amazing places. When you design for cars you get traffic.

No need for a round about. Make the street both ways and see if any further changes needed after a year or so. If speed is a problem, speed bumps are much cheaper and less space reuiring

The roundabout would be invasive to the properties surrounding it. A two-way Farnam makes more sense than the construction involved in a round a bout.

Spend the money on cleaning up the historic buildings in Midtown rather than unneeded structures.

I have lived in Dundee and recognize the benefit of Farnam being two way all day. However the roundabout will be a PEDESTRIAN HAZARD especially for the many children who walk to area schools!

My family lived at 30 one S. 52nd St., for 30 years. I lived there and observed all the problems with the one way in the afternoon accidents. All you have to do is turn it into two ways all the time. If you put a roundabout there it will be impossible for people to walk the neighborhood. It will be impossible for children to cross the street and it will create a hardship and a back up down to saddle Creek that will be a nightmare.

People living North of Dodge traveling East on Farnam, turn North on 50th or 52nd to cross Dodge to get home because of no left turn on Dodge. 2 roundabouts within 2 blocks or even a few, is excessive and ridiculous. If you want people to stop running red lights start ticketing. Red light runners are normalized all across Omaha and cause accidents every minute of the day.

Test two way all day traffic before deciding on a permanent roundabout.

Before adding roundabouts, change signs and make it two way. Study that change first rather than spending all the time and money to make more drastic and costly changes to Farnam.

Roundabouts are hard for pedestrians to maneuver safely. In addition, we should no infringe on people’s personal property.

Children crossing Farnam to get to school will have a hard time because the traffic will not stop if roundabouts are built. The City should change to two-way, all day or just leave it alone. Pedestrians on Farnam don't want roundabouts!
