Keep Dundee Safe - Stop the Farnam Street Roundabouts (Victory by unanimous vote!)

I am opposed to the proposed roundabouts on Farnam at 50 and 52 streets in omaha.

No stop lights will make it worse for pedestrians

Seems to me the city is not listening to what the people want. Please don't dig up our beautifull neighborhood for an unsafe roundabout.

I am concerned there will not be a pause in traffic for me to leave my street and turn onto farnam driving or cross farnam to go north on walks, to the library or business on dodge.

It seems to me that it would be more cost effective to just switch Farnam to two way traffic 24/7, and then run a new study after a year.

My house is on a roundabout in Aksarben and it is DANGEROUS for walkers and uneducated drivers and requires constant maintenance..

No round about needed

I grew up on 52 and Farnam and live not far away now. I understand the safety concerns, however in the failure of the city. we are adding complexity to a simple solution. Just turn the lights off and take down the one way signs. If the consulting firm wants to do an evaluation AFTER the street is behaving normally it will serve the population. While I am a fan of round abouts in general, I think it will be forcing an expensive project for an area that is NOT suited for it.

I have lived at the address for 41 years, and have driven Farnam more than 20,000 times. This plan makes no sense. Please try it without the roundabouts, avoid potentially costing pedestrian(s) their lives, avoid slowing cross traffic and reserve the right to revisit the issue if it does not meet needs! Please listen to those of us who live right here!!

You've contradicted yourself. If traffic is 'dangerous slowdown' then it would be easy for pedestrians to cross since vehicles would be 'crawling' making it easier to see pedestrians. IF the road is such a slow down during rush hour then people would use different roads (i.e., Dodge, or Leavenworth) THIS is the goal! To have fewer cars on Farnam and to NOT have it used as a cut through for traffic. If you are having a tough time backing out where this is a roundabout and you admit that it would cause traffic to crawl, then how would it be easier to back out into Farnman with just lights and people going well over the speed limit?

No Roundabout. Two way always on Farnam St.

I used to live at 50th Avenue and Farnam and my driveway was on Farnam. It would be very difficult to exit the driveway with a roundabout two doors down, trying to predict the traffic flow. I live south of there now on 52nd Street and still drive that area all the time. The thought of negotiating not one but two roundabouts in a two-block stretch of Farnam would be an unnecessary and dangerous slowdown. It would slow rush hour traffic to a crawl. And I agree with the woman who pointed out it would be difficult for pedestrians to cross any of the streets at those intersections. All they asked for was a return to two-way traffic! Easy and cheap. This change would be needless and expensive!! I would prefer my tax dollars be spent on something NEEDED!!
