I've lived in this area for 30 years and I have never had an issue driving down this road before. The signs are inadequate and what is this for besides a con? Putting the con in conservative?

I'm not local to the area, and looking at the penalty notice pictures ,the road signs are so high no wonder they were missed, and reading how many locals have been caught out is unbelievable,to me there is a big problem with the scheme and the crooks that are creaming all that money.

I should not have to fund a trial in this way. The signage is unclear and misleading. My fine should be refunded now.

Received a fine after being completely caught out by the new layout. It looks like a traffic calming measure so I drove appropriately...this is shocking!

Kingston and Surbiton arr rapidly becoming no go areas for drivers. The consequences for local retailers will be serious over the long term.

I've just been fined (10th May) as had no idea the access had been changed! After years of having access I would expect large/clear signage for the first 12 months at the top of the road to warn drivers. I was paying attention to the priority of way sign so missed the new inadequate signage. It's very confusing and let's be honest deliberately done for the council to make money!! Why don't they just have a no entry sign? I'd have noticed that!

I am disgusted and appalled by the councils money making scams and believe it is high time they were bought to account for their deeds.

I have just been caught here myself. Noticed the restriction too late after driving down to the narrowing. Was issued PCN. I am a reasonably attentive driver, DIsgusting that I was not issued a warning for a first time drive through.

I note that there is still in excess of 800 cars passing through this almost every week. Since this is a safety zone for cyclists and pedestrians are Kingston council not worried about the safety issues here, a safe zone with cars entering at 800 per week , a disaster waiting to happen. By the way the dept of transports road sign manual states that regulatory signs should ensure that drivers clearly understand what the prohibition or restrictions are. Obviously tens of thousands say otherwise

I recently got 'caught' by this having been a regular but infrequent user of the road. I was driving at under 20mph, as per the on road markings and it was only when beyond a point of no return that I could see the meaning of the signs! I was not aware of any (if there was) advance warning.

I've used this route for years. The sign is poorly located.

Traffic system worked fine before. Now there is more traffic on Surbiton Road and Maple Road. Also having spoken to employees of Surbiton Girls school it has messed up the access to their staff car park.
