Letter of Support for the Restoration of the Historic State Theatre –Stoughton, MA

Save the state thearter!

It would be a great thing to help rejuvenate Stoughton center.

There are so many activities, and performances that can be held at a theater. The only venues which are quite a distance away are the South Shore Music Circus in Marshfield (non profit but still must pay taxes ) seating 2300, The Hanover theatre in Worcester, seating 2300 (revenue 2024 12.3 million, non profit) The Cape Cod Melody Tent in Hyannis (non-profit) seating 2300, not year round), Providence center for the performing arts (revenue 10 - 100million annual) seating 3100. Even though revenue goes back into a non profit there are still concessions, creation of jobs, and it stimulates economic growth by attracting visitors thereby supporting local businesses.

Bring back the theatre

A part of history truly worth saving

We need more arts in Stoughton, not another pit in the center of town!

Used to go there all the time; nice quaint little theater. I hope someone managed to save the huge, kitschy "ten commandments' poster that adorned one of the walls.

Watched many many movies in that theater going up. So many happy childhood memories.

This theatre is the key to revitalization of downtown Stoughton.

This could be such a beautiful thing for the town of Stoughton!

This is vitally important to reenergize Stoughton’s Downtown.

This historic building is a gem right in the center of Stoughton. It can be used for so many purposes. We need to restore it to make this possible. Please pitch in!

I've followed several old theatres in RI be renovated and become gathering places for good as well as the arts. Please let this be another gem.
