USACE & USFWS -- PLEASE UPHOLD AND ENFORCE CONSERVATION COVENANT ON SECTION 29, NAPLES FL

I have owned and lived in this community since 1987. I guess i'm selfish, please help pass this petition

Concerned for the wildlife and concerned for our flood protection.

The existing Conservation Covenant prohibits residential development in all of Section 29. Why and how can this be suddenly altered? Why would you allow a developer to build on part of Section 29 that will also allow them to build 8 acres of road/access thru adjacent Conservation land to get to the area. This will destroy all of the Preserve area of Section 29. How can this even be under consideration?

This parcel of land is protected and all parties agreed. It is a very remote area full of wildlife and not conducive to any type of residential living. Access to this area is directly thru Conservation land. 8 miles of Conservation land will be destroyed by roads/access to get to this land. How is this even being considered? Fiddlers creek and the County Commissioners have shown a shameful disrespect of nature, the wildlife that inhabit in this section, and the residents that live close by. Fiddlers are going back on their word by now wanting to rescind on the conservation area they were required to set aside by law. This is morally and environmentally wrong and fueled by greed. Section 29 was set aside for a reason. Never to have concrete cover this fragile nature preserve. 750 units do not belong on this piece of land. Please do not let this happen to this beautiful wetland.

Sensitive environmental area should not have residential buildings. Most definitely not multistory apartment buildings.

Please protect the fragile wildlife habitats. And protect existing homes from storm surge when protctive barriers are destroyed.

We MUST make all aware any development south of RPGE will also put anyone living in Section 29 straight in the path of any major storm that walks across the Ten Thousand Islands......and straight across the salt marshes to us in RPGE,! They will not survive....

We really need these large bats as the mosquito population in this area is horrendous. I wish the neighboring HOA would allow us to install bat houses to help out. And who doesn't want Crocodiles nearby? Please do not give Fiddler's permission to destroy these rare species special and dwindling habitat.

This proposal is a typical bait and switch developers will attempt. Because the entire proposed development site is in the lowest tropical storm and Category 1 hurricane storm tide zone it is subject to ever increasing hurricane storm tide heights in the future due to long-term sea-level rise caused by accelerating climate change and more hurricane days. In fact, the reason that farming the land, as it once was, is no longer viable is because of saltwater intrusion over the land from various hurricane storm surge that have flooded the farmland. Also, because the freshwater surficial aquifer on this site floats on top of the saltwater, the saltwater intrusion is pushing this surface water higher and higher making it harder and harder to drain this freshwater from the surface during heavy rainfall events and at the end of rainy season where the ground water levels are there highest. Recent studies indicate that sea levels in the Gulf of Mexico are rising at a rate that's two to three times faster than the global average. Since 2010, the average rise has been about half an inch per year. In the next 30 years, sea levels in the Gulf Coast are expected to rise 14–18 inches, which is more than the rise measured over the last 100 years. The Coastal High Hazard Area is the area that will receive the most frequent hurricane storm surge flooding because there are many more minor storms produced in the atmosphere than major hurricanes in any given year. According to National Hurricane Center records there has been an increase in the number of hurricanes since the start of the 20th century and more rapid intensification in a short time, which is problematic for safe evacuation as the times to evacuate get longer. Hurricanes are in fact atmospheric redistribution of heat around the planet. Unless there is a major public expenditure to hold back the sea, based on various sea level rise studies, the shoreline will likely in the next 100 years be within the CHHA Ca

Please consider keeping to the original decision on the Biological Opinion. This land is needed for the Bonneted Bat, Panther and American Crocodile. Plus this land protects our properties from storm surge.
