USACE & USFWS -- PLEASE UPHOLD AND ENFORCE CONSERVATION COVENANT ON SECTION 29, NAPLES FL

This rampant destruction of our natural areas for greed must stop. This is a wonderful place to make a stand.

Get an attorney that just deals with the Fish and Wildlife laws and knows what they are doing. I believe you have been told this before but some people on the board are not listening. Get rid of your attorney, that you have hired, who knows nothing about this type of litigation.

Please keep section 29 as promised a sanctuary for wild life

The Everglades is one of the 7 natural wonders of North America and yet, no matter how close we get or how much developers wants to push farther and farther into it, it seems to be OK with the County. "Preserve" seems to mean nothing. This has nothing to do with "not in my backyard", it is the premise of why people visit and move to Florida in the first place...our amazing natural environment. Everglades National Park is the largest tropical wilderness in North America. It is one of only three wonders of nature that have received the declaration as International Biosphere Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and a Wetland of International Importance. It was the first national park established for the purpose of protecting a vulnerable ecosystem. While this area might not directly abut the Everglades, it does to the Rookery Bay estuary system, 10,000 Islands, state park land and is Preserve land. Collier County residents value our green space, parks and waterways! Commissioners need to LISTEN.

Worried about habitat for wild animals and flooding as as a result of the proposed build!

The Board of Commissioners disregarded the unanimous Planning Board’s decision after three days of hearings to reject FC’s zoning variance. The Board of Commissioners then held a one day hearing and severely limited the constituent’s right to be heard by denying ceding time to certain Planning Commission speakers. This was a kangaroo court with a pre-determined plan to find in favor of the developer.

Promises made should be kept!! Save our preserves!

Fiddlers Creek should be held to commitments made to preserve section 29, no exceptions.

This is Florida panther territory. There are eagles nesting nearby. There are numerous other wild creatures that benefit from this property. Decision makers have to understand that it’s not necessary to pave over everything. For once the spineless commissioners should show some foresight and some balls and say NO to the developers. There is plenty of other space around that doesn’t endanger precious wildlife.

Please save one piece of paradise and do things legal

Section 125.66 of the Florida Statutes instructs local governments on the state laws covering rezoning applications and changes in land use ordinances. Per the statutes, Collier County cannot legally simply ignore the terms and conditions of a USACE permit or the restrictions of a federal conservation covenant when considering a rezoning request. However, this is exactly what they did in allowing the rezoning of Section 29, and which they do as a matter of normal procedure in all local rezoning applications. Please sign this petition to let the federal agencies know that the Collier Board of County Commissioners, in allowing the rezoning of Section 29 for a 750-unit multi-family apartment complex, has refused to recognize existing in-place USACE and USFWS federal permit conditions, as well as two 2022 Conservation Covenants. We strongly urge these agencies not to allow any modification of these established restrictions and covenants.

Conservation covenants in Collier County and throughout Florida must be upheld. A large development here will have damaging and irreparable effects on the ecosystem and on the fragile water supply

Do not allow the destruction of this teaming wildlife area.

This area is vital to the local ecosystem, and a habitat to important species. Besides the environmental impact and the questionable procedures that led to the Board of Collier County Commissioners' decision, this is a foolish place to build a dense residential complex. The residents will be at risk during natural disasters. This is not an appropriate location to develop. Please uphold the conservation covenant.

We must protect our designed Conservation lands! Collier County is building on every piece of land possible! Must stop the developers from destroying our Preserves and Conservation areas.
