1. State Property tax will be another burden on CT retirees on fixed income. 300k assessed houses houses are modest dwellings in Stamford. 2. Zoning changes will have heavy negative impact on Stamford and drive people out of city and state.

This bill is a new way to harass the middle class that is already suffering under the weight of the pandemic. It is virtually impossible to find homes in most of the state in a decent school district for under $300k. This bill therefore is a direct tax on probably every family. Further, this bill is in total violation of the principle of self-managment, ie.e allowing the towns to manage their own affairs. It is a direct attempt to take control away from the people and put it in the hands of a few (possible corrupt and vested people). This bill should be cancelled.

Please do not add to our tax burden making it more and more expensive to live and stay here. This additional tax would hinder our strong interest in economic growth in the area.... work on building business and other economic ventures in the area rather than penalizing us for living here.

To eliminate town zoning control is to disempower black and other minority populations who have property in those towns.

I am FOR affordable housing and FOR inclusiveness and diversity but AGAINST the state's takeover of local autonomy. I stand against NEW taxes on the hard working people of CT.

The tax in SB 171 will create conflict and inequity between those who pay and those who don't. SB 1024 is top-down and anti-democratic. In CT we do not appreciate Hartford's slur that we are racist. We aren't.
