These bills are insane. Zoning must be locally decided based on local situations. And a $300K home tax hurts the middle class the most!

History has proved again and again that t is better to grow business in CT and empower towns to make zoning decision, rather than taxing more on properties and trying to have a statewide control on zoning.

Do not pass legislation that would encourage people to leave Connecticut. Too many regulations; lack of freedoms.

I am totally opposed to these bills. They will further destroy our state. Just when we thought we are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel with the pandemic and the good news about people from out of state buying property and moving to CT, you want to destroy it! Please, save our State! We do not want to move out but will do if this bills will pass!

Please do not pass SB 171 or SB 1024 or any variation of them. We cannot afford more property taxes and do not want to lose the right to local decision-making regarding zoning, education, budget, etc.

We already had pur revolution. Enough with the State taxing us. This "mansion" Tax is another attempt to hurt the Middle Class. The state zoning laws remove local authority per the state's over reach. Let the tax payers be and keep your hands out of our local governments

We need to halt this tax law. This will hurt the real estate business in this state

We need to stop wasting our time on these other similar economically destructive legislative proposals and start reviving CT's economy and business climate, thereby securing an intact and healthy social fabric for the benefit of every citizen.

This all had to be proposed by someone that has never lived in, or even visited, Fairfield County, where a small dog house costs more than $300,000. Who do that they they are kidding? Do they want Fairfield County to secede? I have a PhD and teach in a major university business school, but I don't need that to see what folly this is. Maybe they are confusing Connecticut with California...both start with the letter C and have a lot of letters (10 and 11 letters).

I oppose this statewide property tax and control of local zoning. Think about the motivation this will give to tax payers to leave this state.
