Oppose Statewide Property Taxes and State Control of Zoning

I SUPPORT LOCAL CONTROL

I oppose SB 171 and SB1024. These decisions should be left to local communities, not dictated at the State level.

I am AGAINST both bills SB 171 and SB 1024. We have worked very hard to buy a home, raise and support our family and pay our bills. We do not need any added expense or penalized for what we have.

Losing local control of zoning means that those who know a town best will be stripped of their ability to develop the town in a way which best uses its resources, responds to the petitions of its citizens and allows a consistent approach to building. This bill should be rejected.

I believe this is a toe in the door for more aggressive property taxation

This is a step when we are all struggling from coronavirus to find ways to help Connecticut residents economically rather than punishing them with more taxes.

We are taxed more than enough in Connecticut. More taxes would be irresponsible.

I oppose this bill. This is not in the best interest of CT’s citizens and will hurt those who have built this state.

This is the most despicable underhanded power grab in the History of this once great State.

I'm not living in a mansion

The real property tax on transfers over $800K has been raised significantly already. If this tax is passed a significant number of Greenwich residents will establish their residence elsewhere.
