These are LOCAL issues - and the State of CT taxes us plenty - one of the highest in the region. How about the state figures out how to spend less and not tax more.

We are scraping by, it is a regressive tax and transfer of wealth. You will cause the working class, blue collar homeowner and transfer our meager wealth to the political elites of the cities.
Causing my wealth loss, and departure of the eroding middle class and working class in this state. It is a shameful and disgusting theft of hard earned successful working class. Shame on you!

I am against SB 171 and SB 1024. After the pandemic is over and the flood of residents from NYC stops we will be left with these higher taxes and go back to our eroding tax base, just like before the pandemic, only it will be worst. The Fed’s won’t let us reverse the taxes until 2024.

SB171 is a wealth tax. To put it in perspective if your house grows 2% in value each year and the state property tax is 1% that is like having a 50% income tax. With inflation coming if you do not pay the tax now you soon will!

I oppose this. This is the time people have lost jobs and paying for their bills with their remaining savings. People cannot afford it.

I am opposed to both SB 171 and SB 1024. Our budget is already way too dependent on property taxes and zoning regulations should be determined at the town and city, NOT STATE, level.
