The median value of a home on sale in CT per Redfin is $359k. This tax would be applied to a majority of houses on sale in CT and to existing houses. The tax will devalue home equity and add to mortgage payments and other tax burdens that exist in CT. My main counterpoint would be to increase the $300k threshold to $500k+.

Let’s restructure our pet ion deficit and then follow other successful low tax states. Let’s get back to what made CT great.

Please consider lowering taxes - no additional taxes and no higher taxes.

I vote NO on SB 171 An Act Establishing a state-wide Tax on Real Property, as well as NO on SB 1024 An Act concerning zoning authority

It seems to me that property taxes are the business of cities, towns and localities. I do not support a Statewide establishment of property taxes.

Every single home in Norwalk is accessed at $300,000 or more. We don't need any more taxes!!

Why dont our legislators look for ways to save money instead of always seeking more money and increasing the bureaucracy

What more can be done to stop this from going forward?

My City, Norwalk already is a victim of unintended consequences from a state ‘density’ policy where developers get tax credits, while Norwalk is unable to fund its schools.

SB 171 I am opposed to adding a new property tax to the state of Connecticut. This is not the time to increase taxes when so many people are unemployed or underemployed.
