Mansion tax will just further push families like mine to states without a tax. If my company opens up a Miami office, I don’t know why I’d stay in Ct to be taxed further

This property tax would hurt low income working families already trying to stuggle in expensive towns. My home in Stamford, is in one of the poorer neighborhoods and would be eligible to be taxed, just because the city I live in. It feels like another drive to get poor people out of "rich towns" this tax helps nobody, will definitely harm people barely hanging on. "300,000" is hardly a mansion.

Zoning matters should be decided locally. There should not be any state imposed real estate tax as that would depress property values and make Connecticut much lesss attractive to new residents and businesses.

$300k mansion? Ha! That doesn’t buy a shack in Fairfield County. Stop with the $100 million dollar tax breaks for the mega real estate developers or building malls in the 21st century and maybe there’d be more money in the state coffers.

Both these bills torpedo our property values--our major asset-- and do irreparable financial injury to the elderly, to retirees and senior citizens. I am a Democrat and will vote against any Democrat who supports either bill.
