I have worked my whole life to secure a roof over my head. I live on a fixed income now that I am a retired. If there are raised taxes in Greenwich, I may have to sell my home and move south to reside in Atlanta with my son. Connecticut see8ms to have finally made strides to be a place where people want to live; now no longer the case.

Do not force us all to move away! You need people to stay in state.

Passing this new tax and not allow existing zoning rules that keep up our property values and desirable neighborhood aesthetics will hasten our move to our FL home, or at a minimum, move our legal residence there by simply adding one month to our winter South. We are a retired couple that pay a significant CT income tax as CT residents.

I urge those who work in Hartford to search Zillow for 1 bedroom condos in lower Fairfield County. They’re not mansions and many of them come in over $300k. What a ridiculous figure for a ridiculous tax.

This is the most regressive proposal ever.

More taxes will only exacerbate one of the biggest problems Connecticut has: taxpayers leaving the state. Jobs are portable and low/no tax states look increasingly attractive. Similarly, heavy handed zoning and development interference by Hartford will also make CT a less attractive place to live. I oppose both SB 171 and SB 1024. Liz van Caloen

I like the character of CT’ towns. Keep zoning local!

The new statewide tax would hurt middle income families like mine who own a house in Fairfield County

I own a condo in Farmington & rent an apartment in Stamford. I would be affected in both towns. Thanks for all you do, Mr Arora.

I am against SB 171. The States will be getting Covid-19 relief for a lot of what is owed. The SB 1024 bill is destroying neighborhoods and property values in Stamford.
