Not right at all to have the state dictate terms of towns in CT. If more housing built, Greenwich will become Stamford and not much affordable housing there, mostly market rate rentals.

The better way to handle this is to exert a lot of pressure on the towns and then let them find a way to create housing for low-income individuals.

Government needs to figure out how to keep within a reasonable budget so they don’t keep taxing the middle class who work hard for their money. The tax payers pay the price for those who have bad spending habits.

CT can’t afford a tax like SB 171. The irony is that this property tax will actually will erode the tax base and is yet another example why many CT residents are moving to low tax states like Florida.
