This additional tax creates hardship for families living in parts of Connecticut.

The only thing you will achieve with this bill is pushing wealthy (spending) people out of state Which will lower the value of property and eventually lower state tax income.
Schools will deteriorate. Nobody wins

This appears to be one more way to drive older, retired citizens out of this State!

Local control of zoning and property tax belongs with local communities. State control means that legislators with no knowledge of local conditions will make the rules.

As a long time resident of the Town of Riverside, CT (and a lifelong Democrat), I strongly oppose the zoning bills that are proposed. Our school district already faces overpopulation challenges which would only be worsened. Additionally, I believe the population density impact to Riverside would be disadvantageous to our thriving community across a number of additional metrics.

I am against the mansion tax. The threshold is way too low. These are not expensive homes in Fairfield County. This will drive me out of the state. Do you people understand the taxes are too high already in CT. how about some cuts . Where, start with the dept. of transportation. It takes way to much $ for a mile of road here compared to other states. Twelve people watching one do the work! I actually like the concept of of higher intensity land use around rail, but this SB 1024 as it stands now is too extreme.

300,000 is an extremely low cutoff and would affect families that can’t afford to pay it. Not to mention it would drive homeowners out of ct, killing small business.

A $300,000 house is far from a mansion. We are taxed enough!!!
Do not pass this.

If CT does this I will sell my home and move immediately. NO NEW TAXES! Get your house in order by cleaning up the waste and the corruption!
