Oppose Statewide Property Taxes and State Control of Zoning

yet another ridiculous idea to devastate Connecticut’s competitiveness in attracting companies and jobs

Statewide property tax and local zoning control is a huge mistake There are many different towns in Connecticut with differing needs and should retain control of their development and evolvement.

Enactment of these proposals would be a disaster for the state of c Connecticut and for its residents.

$300k is not a mansion. I don’t even think you can buy a house in Stamford for $300k, let alone a mansion.

I oppose SB171 and SB 1024. Every town is different. It is impossible for state to manage as local community。

Outrageous bill that must be opposed!!

The legislature and the governor should start exercising fiscal restraint (including renegotiating union contracts and pensions) rather than desperately trying to find new revenue sources to continue wild spending.

Connecticut already pays some of the highest property taxes in the country. To raise and incur new taxes during a pandemic when so many are hurting financially is disgraceful.

Narrow-minded, self-serving, out-of-touch politicians performing at their very worst! Not at your service Mr. & Ms. CT taxpayer, not at all.

The proposed mansion tax is absurd on its face and would include most any residence in the state. It fails to take into account regional differences in home pricing and local property taxes. Let's not chase people out of the state. The Zoning proposal is also a set up for untenable overdevelopment and congestion wildly out of step with the character and infrastructure of small villages and towns. On the plus side, it may drive down local property values enough to avoid the ill-conceived mansion tax !!!! Please don't micro-manage local town governments.

Bad idea! Maybe its time for Greenwich to secede from Connecticut. We send so much money to the state and receive little in return. Now the state wants to control how we live. If we were to secede we wouldn't need high state taxes and many of our wealthy residents wouldn't need to move to low tax states!

I am not happy with the way these bills have been drawn up. You are not thinking about the neighborhood and neighbors and the impact on them.
